Juke's Fried Chicken Opens New Vegan Restaurant "Beetbox" In Vancouver Next Week

The menu was designed by an omnivore so you know it's hearty!

This one is for all you vegans and vegetarians out there. A new restaurant is opening soon with a delicious and drool-worthy plant-based menu. This comfort food will please everyone; from vegans and flexitarians to omnivores. Beetbox plant-based restaurant is opening in Vancouver on Thursday, October 10. We have the inside scoop for you but, fair warning, this will make you hungry.

Making healthier and more globally conscious decisions when picking something to eat just got easier. Beetbox is a new and happening restaurant that focuses on plant-based comfort food and it's coming to Vancouver’s West End soon. Beetbox will be officially opening its door at 1074 Davie Street in Vancouver's West End on Thursday, October 10, 2019.

But this isn’t just any ordinary restaurant. Designed by industry veterans Justin Tisdall and Chef Ryan Satterford, these two omnivores know what it’s like to crave a hearty meal. That’s why all their menu items are way beyond your basic salad and plant wrap.

Plus, they have been in the industry a while and even operate Juke’s Fried Chicken in Chinatown; so you know they know their stuff. It honestly sounds amazing and the opening cannot come fast enough.

According to a press release, the new petite establishment will seat 22. This brightly lit, open-concept space will offer some of the best vegan and vegetarian food to hit the streets of Vancouver.

The awesome part is that it won’t be just lunch options. Menu items for dinner and late-service will also be available so you can literally eat here whenever.

The owners know you will be craving the food as soon as you leave which is why take out options will be available through DoorDash and Foodora.

But those are just minor details. The beautifully curated menu is the main focus.

“We worked hard to create a menu that was accessible to everyone, ethical and most importantly — delicious,” says Satterford in the press release.

“As an omnivore chef, I was able to approach it from a different angle and design a menu of meat alternatives that has the feel, texture and taste of the real thing.”

The menu at Beetbox was built entirely from scratch and features everything from handmade burgers and sandwiches to wraps. There is a huge variety of hot sides like chilli cheeze fries and roasted broccoli with mushroom sauce.

Not to mention their salads like the curried cauliflower with sprouted legumes are all mouth-watering and come with optional protein add-ons.

To compliment your amazing meal, craft beer and vegan-friendly BC wine will be on tap. There will even be some seriously amazing cocktails and vegan milkshakes.

Beetbox is environmentally conscious and uses compostable packaging. “From day one, our core values have focussed on minimizing the impact that our restaurants have on the environment,” says Tisdall.

“That extends from being as carbon-neutral as possible to reducing food waste to using almost entirely compostable materials for our packaging. Beetbox continues that commitment by embracing the changes people are making in the way we produce, prepare and consume food.”

The new establishment will open next week so mark you calendars. This is sure to be the next big hot spot.

Vegan eats like Beyond Meat burgers are so trendy right now. And while A&W has delicious beyond eat burgers, and McDonald's is trying its hand at plant-based options, we need variety in our lives.
