This Cherry Blossom Map Of Vancouver Is All You Need This Spring
Vancouver's Cherry Blossom season is nearly here, and we couldn't be more excited. Every year we look forward to April, as it is the prettiest time of year. Tons of tourists and locals flock to parks around town to see the 40,000 cherry trees bursting with pink and white blooms. To help you enjoy all the flowering trees, we've made a map of the best cherry blossom places in Vancouver for 2020.
This year, the Cherry Blossom Festival will happen from Thursday, April 2 to Sunday, April 26, 2020. There will be events at Queen Elizabeth Park, Burrard Street Skytrain Station, VanDusen Botanical Garden and Stanley Park.
But you don't need to wait until then to see pastel blooms, as some early blossoms have been spotted. So it is time to get outdoors and posting flower photos.
According to the festival's website, there are more than 2689 locations of cherry trees around Metro Vancouver. To find the sites closest to you, you can effortlessly search the map for the trees now blooming.
If you can't wait for cherry blossom season, then these are all the sites you will want to add to your spring bucket list.
Burrard Street Skytrain Station
Address: Burrard Station, Vancouver, BC
Why You Need To Go: Around the station and Art Phillips Park you'll find tons of trees with pink blossoms. It is a gorgeous spot where you can walk under a massive canopy of blooms.
On April 2 and 3, 2020 from noon to 1:30 p.m at the indoor concourse, the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival will be hosting their Cherry Jam Concert. We can't think of a better way to spend your lunch hour than listening to music surrounded by flowers.
Stanley Park
Address: Stanley Park, Vancouver, BC
Why You Need To Go: There are so many different areas to see cherry blossoms here. You'll want to visit near the miniature railroad, the eastern side of the Lost Lagoon and around the rose garden.
Another great spot is the path from the Japanese Canadian War Memorial toward the bus loop. Here you'll find cherry blossom tree flanking both sides of the trail.
On April 23, 2020, the Stanley Park Pavilion will host the annual Sakura Night fundraiser.
David Lam Park
Address: 1300 Pacific Blvd., Vancouver, BC
Why You Need To Go: Within the park, you can see cherry blossom trees near the basketball court, and on the east side of the grounds too.
West 16th Avenue
Address: West 16th Ave., Vancouver, BC
Why You Need To Go: On West 16th Avenue from Maple Street to Granville Street you can find five blocks worth of blooming cherry blossom trees.
Queen Elizabeth Park
Address: 4600 Cambie St., Vancouver, BC
Why You Need To Go: You'll find several different types of cherry blossom trees in the park. While here make sure to explore the clusters of trees by the duck pond, and by the entrance to park on 33rd Ave.
Make sure to visit on April 11, 2020, from noon till 4 p.m as there will be The Big Picnic. For that event, you'll get the chance to enjoy a have lunch under the blossoming trees.
Vancouver City Hall

Why You Need To Go: Around Vancouver's City Hall at West 12th and Cambie you can find several cherry blossom trees. In the spring you can get a particularly nice photo of the pink flowers with the statue of George Vancouver in the background.
West 7th Avenue
Address: West 7th Ave., Vancouver, BC
Why You Need To Go: There is a giant canopy of cherry blossom trees that cover seven blocks from Hemlock Street to Heather Street. Many of the nearby streets in this area also have beautiful blooming trees too.
Nitobe Memorial Garden
Address: 1895 Lower Mall, Vancouver, BC
Why You Need To Go: Have you seen photos of cherry blossom season in Japan, and wished you could go? If so you need to visit the Nitobe Memorial Garden in the spring, as you can stroll through the traditional Japanese garden by the pale pink and white blooms. While here it is easy to picture yourself in Kyoto or Tokyo.
UBC Lower Mall

Why You Need To Go: Stretching from Vanier Place to University Boulevard you can walk next to the blooming trees. While here, make sure to continue down the street to Nitobe Gardens to see more flowers.
Graveley Street
Address: Graveley Street, Vancouver, BC
Why You Need To Go: The cherry blossom trees form a magnificent arch of flowers over Graveley Street between Lillooet and Windermere. In this area, you can also get a spectacular photo of the flowers with the Burnaby skyline.
McSpadden Park
Address: 2125 Victoria Dr., Vancouver, BC
Why You Need To Go: Here you'll find around 12 Whitcomb cherry trees between East 5th Avenue and Victoria Drive.
VanDusen Botanical Garden
Address: 5251 Oak St., Vancouver, BC
Why You Need To Go: You won't believe your eyes as this garden is filled with stunning cherry trees. Within the VanDusen Botanical Garden, there are over 100 trees and 24 varieties.
Make sure to visit this garden on April 18 and 19, 2020 to join the Sakura Days Japan Fair. At this spring event, you'll get to wear a spring kimono, eat Japanese food, try sake and learn how to make origami.
Vanier Park

Why You Need To Go: Take in the blossoms with some of the most spectacular views in Vancouver. Stroll along the water to find these trees and you can see the city's skyline, too.
Granville Plaza

Why You Need To Go: Right by Waterfront Station, you can check out Granville Plaza and get a chance to take some photos of Vancouver's iconic buildings and views.
