Sometimes cops have to deal with some seriously crazy cases. One recent incident involves a Canadian woman that was sporting an ankle monitor being arrested in a mall while having a loaded gun in her purse. The woman is now in custody for the second time following the public incident. The incident took place only months after being placed on house arrest.
A Canadian woman has been charged with a number of violations following a rather colourful display at a public mall. This is not the first time the woman has been arrested. In fact, while she was acting out she was sporting an ankle monitor due to a recent house arrest. The story is definitely shocking, but also something you wish you could have seen at the same time.
On January 21, 2019, police in Abbotsford, British Columbia were called to investigate a woman that was uttering threats. Danielle Rigdon, a female in her early 40s, was arrested and charged with a number of violations including pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats. After the arrest, police searched the residence and seized a loaded firearm and ammunition.
Rigdon appeared in court and was later released on house arrest. She left the courtroom with an electric monitoring bracelet mean to keep her at home. On March 18, 2019, Ridgon was supposed to be at home on house arrest but instead, she decided to go to the mall.
Of course, due to her ankle monitor, police tracked her down pretty fast. Abbotsford police located Rigdon at the Sevenoaks Shopping Centre where she was shopping with a friend. Things were fine at first and police arrested her without incident.
However, during the arrest, she tried to hand her bag over to the friend she was with. Police intercepted the bag and searched it. Inside was a loaded handgun, drugs, and cash.
Police took Rigdon into custody where she still remains. She is now being charged with a carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, possession of a prohibited device dangerous to the public, and possession of a controlled substance. To top it all off, she was also charged with three counts of breaching of an undertaking.
This is not the first time the Sevenoaks Shopping Centre has seen a rather interesting display. Just a few short weeks ago, two teen boys tried to get away with stealing expensive sunglasses by attempting to taser the mall security guard.
