Everyone gets bored, even professional athletes. But just because they have to stay home, doesn’t mean they can give up practicing. By the looks of a video posted online, Elias Pettersson is practicing ridiculous golf trick shots. Thanks to some editing, the trick shots are hilarious and honestly, we could all use a laugh.
Since the NHL season is over for the foreseeable future, players are having to entertain themselves at home. Elias Pettersson, a 22-year-old Vancouver Canucks hockey player, is doing just that.
The quick-witted Pettersson recently posted a video on his Instagram page that shows him perfectly mastering insane golf trick shots. If you thought he was good at hockey, you haven’t seen anything yet.
The video is radiating serious TikTok energy and we are here for it.
When we say the trick shots are impossible, we mean it. Pettersson was able to edit the video perfectly to make it seem like he made every single shot and honestly, we applaud his clever thinking.
The video starts off with a shot that seems plausible but it quickly cuts to a golf ball splashing in a cup of water.
He then ups the ante by shooting the golf ball with one hand.
Again, the video cuts to the same clip of the ball dropping into a cup of water.
So you can see where this is going.
Some of the “trick shots” in the video are hilarious and it’s exactly what we all needed today.
In the clips to follow you can see Pettersson shooting the ball in-between his legs, hitting it like a pool ball, and hitting it from the upper level of his outdoor deck.
Arguably one of the best ones involves him absolutely smashing it off the deck yet somehow, it still lands in the water cup.
Another clip that managed to make us laugh pretty hard is a shot of Pettersson not even hitting a golf ball but still making the trick shot.
Someone needs to sign this guy — he’s been playing the wrong sport this entire time.
We have to give credit to Pettersson. These trick shots are insane and his aim is way better than that time he hit a fan with a puck.
But Pettersson isn't the only one from the Canucks that has shown ace during self-isolation. Tons of the players have sent out messages on Twitter and they are all heartwarming.
This is the definition of making the best out of a tough situation. Anyone who isn’t doing self-isolation like this is doing it wrong.
Thanks for the video, Pettersson. It’s exactly what we all needed.
