Footage Of Dog Getting Kidnapped From Owner's Yard In Canada At Night Goes Viral (VIDEO)

RCMP release footage of dog kidnapping in BC and ask public for their help.

On March 9th, a dog was kidnapped from his home and Canadians have been heartbroken to learn about the incident. Efforts to find the dog have now gone viral, as well as footage of the dog getting kidnapped from his owner's yard at night in Canada. The RCMP released surveillance footage of the kidnapping yesterday on March 11 to get help from the public.

BC local, Taylor, was devastated when his dog Atlas was kidnapped from his own yard a few nights ago. The incident took place in Kelowna, BC in the Mission neighbourhood. Another person, presumably Taylor's friend, Chris Rowland, uploaded a Facebook post asking the public for their help locating Taylor's dog companion. Chris Rowland said in the Facebook post that a generous reward would be offered for Atlas.

The Facebook post has now gone completely viral. Since it was posted just a few days ago on March 9, it has already garnered 71,000 shares as well as thousands of likes and comments. Many people are completely heartbroken to hear that this dog was kidnapped.

The police have now gotten involved as well. Kelowna RCMP is currently investigating the kidnapping of Atlas. They say in a news release that the dog was an 18-month-old golden retriever. He was kidnapped on Saturday, March 9 during the evening and taken from a fenced yard.

"Police were told that at approximately 7:34 pm, the female suspect seemingly opened a gate to the property and called the Golden Retriever out of the yard," reads the news release from the RCMP. "The dog named Atlas then followed the woman, who ran on foot towards Birch Avenue."

They have released footage of the incident on their Youtube channel. Check out the video below! 

The video shows a woman approaching a house. According to RCMP, she somehow opened the gate to the property. The suspect manages to call Atlas out of the front yard. In the video, you can see the dog then follows her onto the road, and together, they run away from the house.

"The female suspect has been described to investigators as Caucasian, with blonde hair, seen wearing a dark coloured jacket, a dark pair of pants and a white toque at the time of the alleged theft," reads the release. "She was reportedly associated to a white sports utility vehicle or SUV."

Many Canadians have been trying to help locate Atlas by sharing the post. Even former Bachelorette Jillian Michaels has shared it on her Facebook!
