If you like amazing custom cocktails and interactive light shows then listen up because we've got just the thing for you. According to a press release sent to Narcity, there will be a massive light festival in Vancouver's Yaletown and it's going to be paired with a next-level cocktail list thanks to all the participating local bars and lounges. Illuminate Yaletown 2020 is returning on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15 and it is going to be bigger and better than ever.
Vancouver has had some epic light shows this winter but it’s about to get even wilder.
This wicked free event is taking place over the long weekend in February and we strongly recommend you check it out.
The illuminated outdoor art exhibition is hosted by Yaletown and it's all things art, fun, glow, and party in one.
For two nights starting on Friday, February 14, you can stroll through the streets and get a glimpse of one of the coolest interactive light displays this year.
Illuminate Yaletown will take place on Hamilton Street between Drake and Davie.
Lights will start at 5:30 p.m. and run until 9 p.m. sharp, so don't be late. It's the perfect date idea, night out with friends, or an exciting event to hit up solo.
During the light show, there will be tons of things to see and do including LED seesaws and a giant Lite-Brite.
There will also be an epic pop-up retro arcade inside the Soho Bar, so be prepared to relive your 90s childhood.
Don’t worry about finding the perfect photo opportunity at the event, there will be a “luminous jungle” to pose and take stunning photos within.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Vancouver event if there weren't some amazing drinks to go with everything.
According to an email sent to Narcity by the organizers, there will be seven participating restaurants that will all have feature cocktails.
The participating places include West Oak, Banter Room, House Special, Robba da Matti, Yaletown Brewing Co., The Distillery Bar + Kitchen, and Sciué Italian Bakery Caffé.
The drinks will include yummy ingredients like passion fruit puree, chocolate bitters, Lychee, and more. No matter where you go, you're in for some delicious and unique drinks.
One of the drinks made by House Special will even be a frozen Bellini inspired by the Canadian flag and it's big enough for two people.
This light show will all be in celebration of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games which took place in mid-February 10 years ago.
In order to re-live some of the memories, the Yaletown streets will be bringing Olympic-themed installations such as “Olympic Ring Swings” at the LED Playground
There will also be a “Winners Podium” for you to stand on and take the perfect photo.
It may have snowed recently but that shouldn’t stop you from bundling up and getting outside for a good time.
