Former King of the North, Kawhi Leonard, is officially returning to the court in Canada this week. Sadly, his return has nothing to do with the Raptors. This Thursday, Kawhi will be joining his new team for the LA Clippers v. Dallas Mavericks game at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
The NBA Canada Series game has been set for this Thursday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets went on sale back in July, but one look at Ticketmaster shows that there are still tons of open seats.
On the cheapest end, tickets are $107 each. The most expensive seats available - floor seats- are upwards of $830. So, for west coast Raptors fans who never got to see the Board Man dunk in front of their eyes last season, these prices are totally reasonable.
Clippers' head coach Doc Rivers tells The Vancouver Sun that Kawhi is, in fact, suiting up and ready to play this Thursday. The new Clipper secured a $103 million, three-year deal with the franchise. Kawhi admitted to the LA Times that he's a bit rusty after taking the full summer off to recover from his whirlwind championship season with the Raptors.
Here's a look at what's still available for this week's game:
LA Times Clippers reporter Andrew Greif predicts that Kawhi's "return to Canada should be quite a scene." Especially because a huge group of Grizzlies fans are planning to show up at this Thursday's game and rally for an NBA franchise in Vancouver. Their goal is to congregate by the Nielsen Statue at Rogers Arena, make noise and draw attention to their cause. Vancouver hasn't had an NBA team since Memphis bought it out in 2001.

The Vancouver Sun reports that Paul George, Kawhi's right-hand man, won't be playing in Vancouver, or at any of the Clippers' preseason games. He's slated to be back on the court in November.
After his official departure from Toronto, Kawhi was spotted in the city on multiple occasions. He was rumoured to have partied with Drake and LeBron James during Toronto's Caribana weekend in August. Even as a Clipper, he still loves to rock his Raptors-New Balance gear. He set the social media ablaze when he posed for media photos in Raptors championship sneakers, weeks after he chose to leave the franchise.

Let's hope that Canadian fans can let bygones be bygones and give Canada give Kawhi a warm welcome this week.
