Who wishes there were more tropical vibes in British Columbia? There's no blue like Caribbean blue — or so you thought. Just a few hours away from Vancouver is a hidden Caribbean like paradise that will transport you to another world.

While the Caribbean is, sadly, a six-hour flight away, but only a three to four-hour drive from Vancouver, B.C. has it's own take on a Caribbean blue paradise. The craziest part? It's a total hidden gem that not many Vancouverites know about.

Kentucky Alleyne Provincial Park is located near Merritt and Kelowna. The breathtakingly blue lake is called Kentucky Lake and is picturesquely surrounded by open forest and rolling grasslands. The entire park is 190 hectares big so there's plenty of open space and wild nature for you to enjoy.

Once you're done marvelling at the beauty of blue, there are several activities you can do at this provincial park. There's a four-kilometre walking trail that circles the lake, giving you those #views of Kentucky Lake.

Other activities include paddle boarding, canoeing or kayaking, camping, fishing and cycling. There's also direct access to the lakeshore.
