If you're from Vancouver, you should know by now how much we love our ramen. With so many ramen restaurants around town, it can be hard to keep things interesting — however there are plenty of new spots and ramen challenges popping up as of late.

This one Vancouver restaurant is now serving up a unique ramen dish that is both intriguing and appetising — beer ramen!

Yuu Japanese Ramen, located in Richmond, has begun serving up a beer ramen that comes in a large beer mug — however it's not what you think.

The ramen noodles are actually submerged in a cold broth that is made with bonito (fish) flakes, with the layer of foam on top consisting of egg whites and gelatin. How clever is that?

The beer ramen is a refreshing take on ramen noodles for Yuu Japanese Ramen's summer menu, and comes with a side of either chicken or vegetable tempura.

The dish is reminiscent of zaru soba, which is a refreshing cold buckwheat noodle dish that is popular during summer months. We've been seeing this dish pop up all over our social media feeds — and have a feeling that will only increase this summer!

📍Yuu Tapas: Hurricane Popcorn Chicken 🍿🐔& Beer Ramen 🍺🍜 The hurricane popcorn chicken was interesting! It’s a fun dish to try! The beer ramen was so good! We all enjoyed it! The top foam is made of egg whites and gelatin. The broth is made from bonito flakes! Perfect cool ramen for the summer! Thank you @yuujapanesetapas for the awesome food and service! 🙆🏻‍♀️ Hand Model: @lovishmiu Disclosure: Media Tasting @foodcomaislife & @nativmediaco . . . #foodcouver #foodiefoodievancouver #yelpvancouver #foodlyeats #foodblogger #gastropost #foodguide #dailyhivevancouver #604eats #yum #yvrfood #vancouverfood #eatcouver #foodietribe #mediatasting #tasting #chicken #beer #ramen #yuutapas #friedchicken #popcorn
