What do you get when you take a bubble tea shop, add a bit of My Neighbour Totoro inspiration and some furry felines? You get the Catoro Cafe! We were so excited when we heard the news that a Totoro-inspired magical cat cafe was coming to Vancouver this summer and it looks even better than we could have imagined.

Not only is Catoro Cafe helping rescued cats find forever homes, but it's also allowing Vancouverites to spend some quality time with the cats. There are so few apartments in Vancouver that allow animals. Anyone who is longing for a pet but can't get one in their present living situation can still get that emotional connection with the cats at Catoro.

When they're not busy rescuing cats, Catoro cafe is busy taking care of the environment. Their sustainability efforts are incredible, they actually use biodegradable plastic cups and then recycle them in-house into 3D printer filament. Plus, their reusable straws are made entirely out of bamboo. You can feel good about sipping bubble tea and playing with cats at Catoro because you're part of the solution.

Here's a peek at what it looks like inside Catoro and what you can expect:

Catoro is full of cosy spots for cat naps, hiding places and tons of cat toys. It's like a cat daycare or cat heaven! It even feels a bit like a magical forest with all the trees and leaves. Cats can perch themselves on the shelves, hide in tunnels or just chill on pillows and wait for customers to give them belly rubs.

This community-minded cat cafe is going to be one of the top spots in the city to come and hang out with friends, bring your date or even come alone to play with the cats. Vancouver needs more themed cafes like this!

Did we mention that this cafe also doubles as a bubble tea bar? Their bubble tea menu is simple but delicious! A Catoro Milk Tea will set you back $5.50 and their delicious Brown Sugar Matcha Latte costs $6.50. The bubble tea is amazing, but it's really the cats that everyone's coming to see!

Vancouver got a shoutout on a recent Jeopardy! episode, but it seems that the contestants had a hard time placing this famous West Coast celebrity.

In the category of 'That's Canadian Entertainment' for $600, players were asked, "This Vancouver Native Lent His Voice To The City's Public Transit In 2018; Here's A Sample" followed by a very familiar voice saying, "Get those feet off the seat. My mom might be sitting there one day. C'mon."
