If you're looking to move to Vancouver (or relocate outside of the pricey downtown core to a more affordable area), then you're in luck. The hidden gem neighbourhoods in Vancouver were just revealed, and they're offering cool vibes and cheaper prices for the value.
A new report from REMAX Canada broke down the "hidden gems across the Greater Vancouver Area," that are spots to watch for those in the market. "These aren't brand-new communities, but established areas that are finally getting their moment in the sun. With investment in new transit infrastructure and community revitalization they offer a blend of character and opportunity," the report said.
While these might be outside of the downtown core, being close to public transit can keep you connected. The report said that "these neighbourhoods are more affordable if buyers are willing to compromise" and are "on the cusp of becoming the city's next desirable postcodes."
If you're a Vancouverite trying to navigate the hecticness that is the real estate market in the notoriously expensive city — here's the up-and-coming Greater Vancouver Area neighbourhoods.
Bridgeport (Richmond)
Bridgeport made the list, thanks to it's "strong transit access and prices up to $300,000 lower than Steveston."
Ladner (Delta)
This area is set "on the border of Surrey and Richmond," and has a small-town feel. "At $1,149,100, the value proposition is becoming too good to ignore," the report said.
Mount Pleasant East (Vancouver)
This cool neighbourhood is in Vancouver and has a charm to it that's unique. It's fun and lively, with "relative affordability."
Willoughby Heights (Langley)
REMAX says that this spot is "the definition" of "up-and-coming," with a ton of development in recent years. You get more affordability, more space, and access to the city on Highway 1.
Fraser Mills (Coquitlam)
This is the spot for "long-term investment" as the neighbourhood develops.
Fraser Mills & Coquitlam West (Coquitlam)
The report said that "Coquitlam is making a bold play by transforming underutilized land into vibrant communities" and Fraser Mills is set to become a brand-new waterfront destination."
Capstan Way (Richmond)
The vision here is long-term, with some development delays but lots of potential. "As revitalization continues, new businesses and residents are steadily moving in, building a foundation for future growth, including greenspaces like Capstan and Aberdeen Parks," the report said.
