Vancouver's Peak Of Christmas On Grouse Mountain Is Now Open And It Is Amazing

The one Christmas event you really shouldn't miss.

With so many holiday activities to choose from, it is hard to know where to direct your energy over the busy winter months. There are endless outdoor light displays around the city, cute holiday dates to plan, and winter wonderland excursions awaiting.

But if you're going to do one day trip this winter season, we highly recommend making Grouse Mountain's The Peak of Christmas a priority. Grouse Mountain's majestic Christmas festivities offer a little of everything - from a wonderful Light Walk to sleigh rides to a mountain-top outdoor ice skating rink.

Designed to look like The North Pole, Peak of Christmas gives you the chance to have breakfast with Santa in his workshop and meet real reindeer.

Be sure to walk around Blue Grouse Lake, which is illuminated by amazing light installations and lanterns. Walk through the snow-covered trees and light tunnels for a truly magical holiday experience. The Light Walk is open from dusk till 10pm.

Not convinced yet? There is also an 8,000 square foot mountain-top Ice Skating Pond. Bring your skates or rent some from the Fireside Hut and enjoy BC's natural winter beauty. The ice rink is open from 9am till 10pm, meaning you can skate under the stars.

Those looking for a more adventurous time should also check out the Sliding Zone (weekdays: 12pm-8pm; weekends: 10am-8pm; Dec. 17-Jan 2: 10am-10pm), which offers snow carpet rentals, and designated lanes and terrain for sliding (weather permitting).

And be sure to visit the SOS Children's Gingerbread Village (10am-10pm) where you can vote for your favourite tasty creation in support of SOS Children's Villages.
