You Can Climb The 633 Steps Of This Iconic Vancouver Tower Next Month

Even though I'm a Vancouverite with +20 years of experience living in the city, I've literally never done the Grouse Grind. If I have to go over a bridge to get there I'm basically not interested. Luckily for the non-outdoorsy folks like myself, I can get all the heart-pumping benefits of the Grouse Grind with none of the mud splatters!

The Urban Grind is a fun opportunity to climb all the 633 steps of the 'Vancouver Lookout Tower'—once you reach the top, you get a beer and you join in the party with a 360º view of the city! To make sure you make it to the top and have a ton of fun in the process, remember to pace yourself, use the handrails to pull you up like a rope to take some pressure off your legs and just smile through the burn!.

This awesome fitness event costs way less than your typical workout class in Vancouver plus you get to join in an actual party after with a DJ and everything! It costs just $5 to join in the fun and all the proceeds of their coat check go to our local mental health charity The Kettle Society. You're going to laugh, meet new friends and your thighs will burn. This is the perfect event to do after school or work with a few friends who either love fitness or beer!

It is running every Tuesday in March on the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th from 4:30 to 6:30. Admission costs $5 and it includes a beer and a $5 voucher to use at their awesome underground food court. All proceeds from the coat check benefit the Kettle Society. You can climb the stairs as many times as you want within that two-hour period!
