Vancouver has been the home to many film and television sets. Tons of movies and tv shows have been filmed in the city that we can't keep count – such as Riverdale, Deadpool and more. There's a reason that the city is dubbed "Hollywood North". Some may not know, but surprisingly, many Hollywood celebrities also call Vancouver home.
We're so proud to call these amazing actors and actresses our fellow Vancouverites. Canadians sure are talented and who knows, one day you might even run into one of them when they are visiting the city!
This Pretty Little Liars actress was born in Mississauga, Ontario but moved to Vancouver when she was 10. If you follow her Instagram and you'll find her posting the cutest pics of her in Vancouver and hashtagging them with #shaycationvancouver.
This heartthrob is a proud Vancouverite, and even refers to his home city in his Instagram handle, @vancityreynolds. He even went to Kitsilano Secondary in Kits! Him and his wife Blake Lively frequently visit Vancouver, and you can sometimes catch glimpses of the city in their Instagrams.
This How I Met Your Mother and Avengers actress went to Lord Byng High School in the Point Grey neighbourhood of Vancouver. There are even references to her Canadian identity in How I Met Your Mother – her character Robin Scherbatsky is also from Vancouver and is sometimes spotted repping a Vancouver Canucks jersey.
Michael J. Fox
This famous actor starred in iconic, classic movies such as the "Back to the Future" series, "Family Ties" and "Spin City." He was unfortunately diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson's disease in 1991 but his acting abilities are still strong and he continues to take on roles. Fox is a Parkinson's disease advocate and started The Michael J. Fox Foundation, which is an organization that is dedicated to finding a cure.
The former ABC Bachelorette is from Vancouver and even worked at staple Vancouver restaurant Cactus Club. She has posted cute pics all over Vancouver, whether it's at Earnest Ice Cream, Gastown or Coal Harbour. She now lives in the U.S. with her fiancee Shawn Booth, who she met through The Bachelorette, but she still visits Vancouver frequently.
You may have heard this famous comedian, producer and actor's voice often around Vancouver lately because Seth Rogen now voices the Translink announcements on the public transit in Vancouver. He was born in Vancouver and wears many hats – actor, comedian, director, writer and producer.
This famous former NBA player moved to Victoria when he was less than two years old. He went to high school in Saanich, B.C. He has been named MVP when playing for the Phoenix Suns and is an eight-time NBA All-Star and seven-time All-NBA selection. You've probably seen his name all across Vancouver at Steve Nash Sports Clubs, but now, the basketball player has actually sued the fitness club for using his name.
This Star Wars actor who starred as Anakin Skywalker is Vancouver born and bred. He recently starred in Little Italy with Emma Roberts, which was filmed in Toronto.
This famous rock music legend was raised in Vancouver and went to Argyle Secondary in North Vancouver. The "Summer of '69" singer and his band would even play at high school dances around the city and he first started in the Vancouver music scene!
Carly Rae Jepsen
If you couldn't stop singing "Call Me Maybe" or it was stuck in your head, you can thank this award-winning Vancouver singer for that. She was born and raised in Mission, BC and actually placed third on Canadian Idol, before her breakout single "Call Me Maybe" in 2012.
This talented and renowned singer is a proud Vancouverite. Despite his international success, he has stay trued to his roots and continues to live in Vancouver with his family. He was born in Burnaby and went to Cariboo Hill Secondary School.
If you loved watching the CW series 90210, you'll be happy to know that one of the stars is actually from Vancouver. Jessica Lowndes played Adrianna in the teen drama 90210 and she is an actress and singer-songwriter. She went to Pacific Academy in Surrey.
Bonus: Taylor Kitsch
Even though he's not from Vancouver, we had to add Taylor Kitsch to this list. He's from Kelowna, BC which is about three and a half hours drive from Vancouver. The famous actor got his big break playing Tim Riggins on Friday Night Lights. He went on to star in huge Hollywood movies like John Carter, Battleship and X-Men Origins.
