Vanessa Morgan From “Riverdale” Just Got Married To MLB Player Michael Kopech
While a lot of celebs spent their weekend preparing for the Golden Globes, this couple was rehearsing their vows and doing last-minute tasks. Vanessa Morgan and Michael Kopech tied the knot over the weekend following their engagement last summer.
Ottawa born Morgan got her start on the Family Channel when she played Amanda Pierce on The Latest Buzz. Since then, the 27-year-old has stayed true to her Canadian roots with other features including Degrassi and The Amazing Race Canada.
Now, she's best known for playing Toni Topaz on the CW series.
Kopech is a 23-year-old baseball pitcher for the Chicago White Sox and comes from down south in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
The two met because of social media over two years ago and got engaged during the Fourth of July long weekend in 2019.
According to E! News, the ceremony took place in Homestead, Florida at the Historic Walton House. They wrote that the couple "kept their special day small and intimate, as they wed in front of about 40 family and friends, including a few of Morgan's Riverdale co-stars."
That included Skeet Ulrich, Drew Tanner and Madelaine Petsch, according to People.
E! News continued writing that Morgan "donned a lavish design by none other than Eisen Stein Bridal" and then "had an outfit change and donned a second dress by Grace Loves Lace." They shared photos that were reposted by a fan account below.
In an interview with the news outlet, the Canadian actress told them, "We both knew the first day we met that 'this is it' and I'm so excited that today officially starts our forever. Today, I vowed to love my best friend for a lifetime and it was a day spent with those we love in a room filled with endless love. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him."
On her Instagram story, Morgan posted a photo of her showing off her giant ring with a personalized barrette that says "Mrs. Kopech".

She followed that with a video of her and her friends partying poolside.
The couple took stunning engagement photos in Whistler, BC likely because Riverdale is filmed nearby in the Vancouver area.
Season four will be filming until April so hopefully, the newlyweds will be able to squeeze in a honeymoon before then!
