If you're somebody who uses Venus razors, you may want to check the packaging before opening up a new blade. Health Canada has just recalled its Venus razor blades due to a defect that poses a threat for a cutting hazard. Anyone with affected razors is asked to dispose of the product immediately and not use it. That's not the only product to be recalled in Canada though.

While Health Canada announced on Wednesday that some of Venus' Simply3 Disposable 4-count razors have been recalled across Canada, this past week they have also issued major recalls for some Apple 15-Inch MacBook Pro laptops and also expanded a recall for some makeup from Claire's, including the brand from popular dancer, singer, and Youtuber JoJo Siwa. Here's what you need to know about each major recall.

Venus Razor Recall:

These razors have been recalled due to the fact that they pose a cutting hazard. A defect in the product has caused some of the blades to become misaligned which poses a risk for cutting during the shave.

These blades came in multiple colours including pink/white, yellow/white, and purple/white and were sold in packs of four. Each razor has three blades and has a pink strip. Health Canada informs the public that approximately 2,700 units of this recalled product have been sold in Canada.

These affected products were sold at both Walmart Canada and online between February 2019 until May 2019. If you bought your razors during this time make sure to check UPC and lot code that can be found on the back of the razor packaging. The UPC code is 047400315358 and the lot code is 9003A17400.

MacBook Pro-Recall:

Some 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops have been recalled across Canada since they pose a fire hazard. Health Canada warns that "the batteries in the recalled laptop computers can overheat, posing a fire hazard."

They say that in Canada, approximately, 26,000 units of these affected computers have been sold. The recalled units were sold in a one and a half year period from September 2015 to February 2016. Consumers can visit the Apple website and search for the serial number of their laptop to confirm whether or not it is included in the recall.

Claire's Makeup Recall:

Multiple types of makeup were recalled from popular store Claire's due to the risk of asbestos contamination. The products affected include Claire's Eyeshadow, Claire's Compact Powder, Claire's Contour Palette, and most famously the JoJo Siwa Makeup Set.

Health Canada warns that 2600 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between October 2016 and March 2019.

Fortunately, with all three of these major recalls, Health Canada reports that they have received no reports of injuries. However, in the case of the MacBook recalls, Health Canada says, "the company has received one report of consumer incident."

There have also been 26 incidents and five consumer injuries reported in the United States relating to this MacBook recall, meanwhile, there also has been one injury reported in regards to the Venus recall in the US.

If you have purchased any one of these affected products, Health Canada states that consumers should stop using them immediately.

Consumers are advised to contact these companies for more information about getting a refund for the razors or the makeup or to arrange a free repair on the recalled MacBooks.
