There is nothing better than having a picnic with a few good friends or a good book. But just because it’s not the warmest outside yet, doesn’t mean you can't indulge in this pastime. Thanks to the BC Parks Foundation, there is a virtual picnic in B.C. taking place this weekend. It’s going to be just as amazing as it sounds and everyone is invited.
The entire province of B.C. is going to be having an epic and incredibly wholesome virtual picnic tomorrow.
The public Facebook group states that on Saturday, March 28, the picnic will be taking place at 1 p.m. sharp.
For one hour, everyone will be joining in on the massive get together via computer.
All you need to do is set down a blanket in your living room or patio and get ready to be virtually connected.
Whether you want to take part in this alone or with your roommates, everyone is invited.
To kick off the picnic hosted by the BC Parks Foundation, there will be a “welcome-to-the-picnic toast.” You can then tune into several streams that will be set up from a variety of different entertainers.
You’ll also be connected to your community all while you watch so you won't feel isolated.
All the entertainment links will be posted on the Facebook group so be sure to follow.
“Let’s get together (virtually) and do what we all love: eating good food, connecting with family and friends, and appreciating the supernatural beauty of where we live,” writes the public event page.
Whether you sit on your lawn or patio or decide to make your living room an indoor park with some twinkle lights and a blanket, you’ll love having the ability to be entertained without having to leave your property or your comfort zone.
Right now, there are 231 people confirmed to be going with another 297 interested. If you look at the guest list, there’s a chance you may see someone you know.
Shoot your friends a message and plan to watch the same entertainment program together.
You can chat while you watch and it will feel like they’re in the same room as you.
For your picnic, consider treating yourself and ordering something in. Vancouver has some totally yummy bubble tea shops that deliver literal rainbows in a cup.
There are even high tea spots in the city that deliver everything fancy so you can have a fancy picnic.
Not to mention, restaurants and bars are delivering booze right to your door. Afternoon mimosas anyone?
