Between yoga classes, runners, and cyclists, people everywhere have been using marijuana for some many different workouts. With legalization literally right around the corner in Canada, the trend is sweeping across the country.

All over Canada, fitness fanatics are integrating cannabis into their everyday workouts and according to them, there are huge benefits. One marathon runner from Ontario likes to smoke before a run, or sometimes even in the middle of a marathon.

He told the Ottawa Citizen that getting high before a run lets him go totally zen, heightens his sense of awareness, and lets him really focus on his movements and the run itself.

Another BC-based cyclist and weed advocate told the Citizen that she uses weed, specifically CBD topicals,  before long rides to avoid joint pain.

Beyond everyday athletes using weed in their daily workouts, there are also a number of fitness classes that are offered across Canada, especially yoga classes.

In Vancouver, there is a class that combines cannabis education with yoga, and while they don't supply any weed to participants, the class takes place at a dispensary where they teach about the various uses of weed products.

In Toronto and even places like Barrie, ON, there are other yoga classes where you actually do smoke up right before the class, allowing for deeper relaxation and relieving any pain. One of Toronto's marijuana-friendly yoga studio is called Ganja Yoga.

Ganja Yoga has a variety of classes ranging from restorative yoga to meditation to advanced and movement based yoga. Before each other those classes, participants and instructors vape to get deeper into relaxation.
