Ontario High School Student Killed In A Prom Party Shooting At An Airbnb

A male high school student was shot in the head at a prom after party in Whitchurch-Stouffville.

York Regional Police have reported that one person, a male high school student, has been found dead after a shooting took place at a prom after-party in Whitchurch-Stouffville.  The shooting occurred inside a large home on Bloomington Road in the Highway 48 area at approximately 4:00 AM this morning.  The victim of the Whitchurch-Stouffville shooting was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to CP24, the party was winding down when the teen was shot and killed.  Police have yet to release information related to who the suspects are or what the circumstances of the shooting were.

Eye-witness reports from neighbours described hearing the sounds of gunshots and seeing a person on the ground outside of the residence.

Just a few hours earlier, a pedestrian was hit by a car near the home on Bloomington Road.  York Regional Police are not yet certain if the accident is related to the homicide, and authorities are currently attempting to determine if the collision involved someone at the party.

Based on information acquired by sources at CP24, it is believed that the home where the shooting occurred was being rented as an Airbnb.  Police blocked off the perimeter around the residence with police tape earlier this morning, and forensics officers were seen conducting an investigation inside the home.

It has not yet been confirmed if police have arrested anyone in connection with the shooting.
