While we spend our days grinding away at work, I think it's natural for a lot of us to let our minds get distracted and start to wonder about what it would be like to be a part of the world's top 1%. There's no denying that it would be nice to have endless cash to spend on frivolous things! Who are the world's highest-paid celebrities? Only 2 Canadians made the list.
As per usual, Forbes recently released their list of 100 highest-paid celebrities in 2019. What's probably most interesting about this year's list is that the two top-earning positions have been awarded to females, both of whom are under the age of 30.
According to Forbes, makeup mogul Kylie Jenner is bringing in a whopping $170 million annually, second only to country singer turned pop-star, Taylor Swift, who's 2019 fortune is sitting at $185 million. I don't know about you guys, but I'd LOVE to take a small fraction of that off of Taylor's hands.
Apart from all the amazing and hard-working women on the list, Forbes also acknowledged a couple of very wealthy Canadians that are securing the bag. Rapper Drake came in at number 25, bringing in $75 million from his music, clothing line, and other ventures.
The only other Canadian on the list is actor and former athlete Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. He ranked in at #15 on the list, with Forbes saying he brought in $89.4 million in 2019.
Other huge names on the world's highest-paid celebrities list included fashion icons Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, singers Beyonce and Jay-Z, professional athletes Steph Curry and LeBron James, and Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. The lowest ranking on the chart was the band Metallica, whose income is $68.5 million, which is still far more than most of us will see in our lives.
