Andrew Scheer Says He Won The TVA Debate But Nobody Else Agrees

For the first time in this election period, Andrew Scheer and Justin Trudeau went face to face in a debate. The French-language debate, which also included Jagmeet Singh and Bloq leader Yves-Francois Blanchet was hosted by TVA. Now some questions have arisen about who won the TVA debate and according to the Conservative's twitter, it was Andrew Scheer.
In a tweet posted about an hour after the debate had wrapped up, the official Conservative Party account posted a graphic that read "Andrew Scheer hits a home run in Montreal, wins TVA debate." The photo also featured Andrew Scheer swinging a baseball bat, which is likely his very own Wonder Bat.
To accompany the photo, the party also said, "c'mon Canada, do you want four more years of Justin Trudeau playing dress up and hiking your costs, or do you want to see Andrew Scheer make life more affordable and sock some dingers?"
Some people are confused about what "sock some dingers" even means, but it's yet another reference to The Simpsons. However, in the clip from the show, the line is actually "sock a few dingers." Nonetheless, that's not the biggest issue people have with the tweet.
It seems that not everyone agrees that Andrew Scheer actually won the debate last night.

One Canadian said, "it's abundantly clear that [Andrew Scheer] did not do well in last night's TVA debate." They also mentioned one French headline which, translated into English says "Tough Night for Scheer."
The Honourable Shelia Copps also weighed in. While she's a Liberal, she referenced what TVA was saying post-debate, tweeting that the "TVA commentators pretty much give the win to Trudeau. They also say the biggest loser was Scheer."

One tweet suggests that the declaration about Scheer winning came from the Toronto Sun; however, in their coverage following the debate they focus primarily on Bill 21 and don't actually name any winners.
In a statement to Narcity, a representative for the Conservative Party said, "the real people that watched the debate saw a leader that understood it was time for you to get ahead, and make life more affordable. Only Andrew Scheer was that leader last night."
They also suggested that some of the tweets saying Scheer didn't win came from bots. They said, "I know username @Johnjohnson8675309 and a dozen of their other random numbered colleagues probably disagreed."*
While it still remains unclear who won the debate last night, Canadians online seem confident that it was not Andrew Scheer.
During the debate, Scheer was also defeated online when Canadians were quick to point out that Jagmeet Singh's French was a lot better than his.
