Swoop Is Finally Letting People Escape The Cold Directly From Winnipeg

Flights to five new sunny destinations are finally taking off!

There's no time like the present to start planning a winter getaway that takes you away from the snow and cold and directly to the sun and sand. Swoop flights from Winnipeg are now taking off to new sunny destinations. It's time to book that flight down south and start packing bathing suits and sun hats.

On November 15, the airline launched the first of a series of inaugural flights from Winnipeg that go directly to five new destinations in Mexico, Florida and Nevada.

"This weekend marks an exciting milestone for Winnipeg travellers, gaining access to more destinations across North America at an affordable price. Swoop's growing network offers more flights to popular destinations at an ultra-low fare for all Canadians to enjoy," said Steven Greenway, president of Swoop, in a news release

The first flights to take off as part of Swoop's new service were ones to Las Vegas and Orlando from Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.

These new flights to Los Cabos, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa Bay, and Las Vegas all run until April 2020 so there's lots of time to take advantage of the new flight routes and head down south.

Flights to Orlando are offered twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays as part of this new route. Now’s the perfect time to book that trip to Disney World.

This flight service will end on April 24, 2020.

Swoop flights to the two other Florida locations fly on different days than each other.

The Winnipeg-Fort Lauderdale route also has flights two times a week but on Mondays and Sundays until April 25, 2020.

Flights to Tampa Bay take off on Thursdays and Sundays twice a week from Winnipeg until service ends on April 23, 2020.

Flights from Winnipeg to Los Cabos take off once a week until December 18 but after that, flights will depart from Winnipeg twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Swoop’s Winnipeg-Los Cabos flight route only operates between November 17 and April 23, 2020.

On November 9, a tourist tax in Mexico's Baja California Sur state came into effect for all foreign travellers to the area. So you'd have to pay a fee of about CA$24 if you travel to Los Cabos.

The last of the new destinations offered from Winnipeg is Las Vegas. Flights take off twice a week on Mondays and Fridays and run until April 24, 2020.

You can book flights from Winnipeg to these destinations now through April 2020.
