This Retro Amusement Park In North Texas Will Make You Feel Like You're In The 60s

Theme parks are always a summer favorite! Sure, you can go to any of the giant theme parks in Texas, but we suggest you try going to a super awesome hidden retro park that will blow your mind away. Wonderland Amusement Park in Amarillo has too much retro goodness it'll be hard to stay away.

The park opened in 1951 and back then it was only a place for kids. As time passed, the park grew and now they have rides for everyone and even a mini-golf course. The park has rides like the Texas Tornado, which as you can imagine, has tons of twists and turns. They also have the Mouse Trap which is 52 feet tall and pulls you around in dizzying circles. Visitors can stay refreshed this summer with one of their many waterbased rides like the Rattlesnake River Raft Ride, Pipeline Plunge, or the Shoot and Chute.

In case you thought all of this fun just isn't enough, there is also an arcade with tons of games ready for you to play. Mini- golfing is only $5 and it gives you time to slow down before heading back out to get on more crazy rides. If you're down to get some air, you can also take a ride on their Fiesta Swings, Sky Rider, or Wonder Wheel.

Tickets to the park start at $17 and work their way up depending on the time of day you choose to enter the park and how many credits you want for games and rides.
