If you've ever fantasized about becoming a wizard after watching Harry Potter, the Canadian government may have be helping make your dreams come true. You can actually apply to be a Harry Potter "Wizard" for the Canadian government. Yes, we're being serious. The government has actually put up an official posting on their website searching for a "Wizard" to join their ranks. Dream job alert much?
It looks like even the Canadian government shares our love for all things Harry Potter, and we are so here for it. The Government of Canada drops several references to the movie in the job posting. They even provide "Dumbledore's army" as the contact information in the description.
Could this job posting get any better? Yes, it can, because they're even offering up to $61,000 for the annual salary. Who's ready to apply for this dream job ASAP?
"Are you a Gryffindor (brave, loyal, courageous and adventurous), a Ravenclaw (wise, creative, clever and knowledgeable) a Hufflepuff (hard working, dedicated, fair, patient) or a Slytherin (resourceful, ambitious, determined and crave leadership)?" reads the job posting.
"No matter what 'house' you belong to, Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) has various teams that we would love to use our 'sorting hat' to place you into."
Check out a screenshot of the posting below! We still can't believe that this is an actual job posting on the government's official website.
Applications are due by August 30, 2019, and there are several "wizardry" positions available. Anyone living in Canada or any Canadians living abroad are welcome to apply. May the best wizards get the job!
The very first round of applications is due on April 8. "...if you would like to increase your chance of being considered in this first group, please ensure to submit your application by April 7, 2019," says the posting. Mark your calendars because this is a position that you don't want to miss your chance to apply for.
We're happy to see that even the government is just as obsessed with Harry Potter as we are.
