You Can Go On An Incredible Zipline Tour Through An Ancient Rainforest In Canada

In Canada's west end, thrillseekers can embark on an exciting aerial journey through an ancient rainforest using a network of speedy ziplines suspended high in treetops.

Ziptek Ecotours is an outdoor adventures company that features award-winning zipline and treetop trekking experiences. The company started in 2002 and has since been providing top-of-the-line zipline tours for Canadians across the country.

There are five zipline tours to choose from, each offering a distinct experience in the Whistler rainforest where they are set up. Each one allows participants to experience the spectacular scenery and amazing views of the Blackcomb region via a combination of ziplines, suspension bridges, treetop observation platforms and ground-based trails:

  • Bear Tour — 5 ziplines, 4 treetop bridges (3 hrs)
  • Eagle Tour — 5 ziplines, 4 treetop bridges (3 hrs)
  • Mammoth Tour — 10 ziplines, 8 treetop bridges (4.5 hrs)
  • The Sasquatch — 1 extremely long zipline (1.5 hours)
  • Twilight Tour — 6 ziplines, 8 treetop bridges (3 hours, nighttime)

The adventure begins at Carleton Lodge where guests will check-in and meet their guides. They will also be fitted with a custom Ziptrek harness and helmet. All of the ziplines in the Ziptrek rainforest are gravity fed, so there's no need to worry about controlling the speed of descent. They are also engineered with their own braking systems that decelerate the zips themselves, so passengers can just focus entirely on the rides.

The Sasquatch is the longest zipline in Canada and the US, stretching a total of 2 kilometres long from end to end. Each of the tours above can be combined in a package with The Sasquatch for a full ziplining experience.
