This 2.1-Mile Hike In Georgia Will Lead You To 2 Hidden Waterfalls

Georgia has so many beautiful state parks to visit, sometimes it is hard to choose which one you should road-trip to next. Most people look for parks that have scenic hikes, maybe a waterfall, and a place to rest their head after a long summer day. Cloudland Canyon State Park is one of the state's largest and most beautiful parks, with multiple waterfalls and trails, so it should be your next adventure destination.

Cloudland Canyon has over 64 miles of trails, and some lead to beautiful waterfalls and pools that you can actually jump into.

If you are looking for a waterfall adventure, Cloudland Canyon Waterfalls Trail is one of the many paths you can choose from.

This 2.1-mile roundtrip hike will lead you up to two hidden waterfalls, buried deep within the forest. You will see Cherokee Falls, as well as Hemlock Falls.

Just a warning, it is a more difficult hike because of the number of stairs and the rocky terrain, but the view will be totally worth the struggle.

The views during the trail hike are breathtaking and may offer some you have never experienced before. The canyon's forests go for miles and you might find yourself stopping to stare at it.

Cherokee Falls is the first waterfall you will encounter, and you will just want to jump right in. Atlanta Trails explains that the 60-foot waterfall drops into the bluest pool of water.

Hemlock Falls is the second waterfall and is just as beautiful as the first. However, this waterfall drops 90 feet, so you cannot jump into this one. The water pools down into a "boulder-filled canyon floor," but it is still a sight to see.

At the end of the day, you have many options to stay the night. You can choose to stay in a yurt — a step up from "real" camping — or rent a cottage or campsite spot. Whatever you choose, you can be sure to lay out at night and see stars for miles. It is the perfect way to wrap up your adventurous day.

Nightly rates vary depending on the spot you choose, and what nights you plan to go. They can range from $100 per night in a yurt to $180 per night in a cottage. You can book your stay here.

It is just $5 to enter the park to enjoy all that it has to offer. The park is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is located at 122 Cloudland Canyon Park Rd., Rising Fawn, Georgia.
