A Musical Drama Series Similar To “Glee” Just Wrapped Up Filming In BC (PHOTOS)

The iconic musical comedy Glee had its emotional series finale in 2015. Fans of rehearsed singing and dancing routines can rejoice because Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist is a musical drama series that was filmed in BC. It features so many familiar faces including Pitch Perfect star Skylar Astin and Glee alum Alex Newell.
According to IMDb, filming locations include Vancouver and “Whites Studios Copperwood, Richmond, British Columbia, Canada”. What’s Filming reported that season one of the series began production in September 2019 and filming was set to end on January 30.
However, a recent Instagram story from the show’s star Jane Levy indicated that production apparently wrapped yesterday. In the photo of her co-star Michael Thomas Grant, Levy wrote, “Congrats on wrapping season 1, qts”.
Levy plays the lead role of Zoey Clarke, a woman who experiences a freak accident that leads her to develop the ability to hear people’s thoughts except with a twist-she can hear them in the form of songs.

The O.C. alum Peter Gallagher plays Zoey’s dad and Step Brothers star Mary Steenburgen plays her mother.
Other cast members according to IMDb include John Clarence Stewart, Lauren Graham, Kapil Talwalkar, Andrew Leeds, and India de Beaufort.
The cast has shared photos throughout the past few months of production in British Columbia.
In November, Levy shared a selfie of her with Astin and Stewart.
Before the Christmas holidays, she also posted this adorable photo with Graham, Talwalkar, and Renee Elise Goldsberry who shared the same photo and tagged their location as Downtown Vancouver.
Just yesterday, Steenburgen shared this snap of the cast who had a “Hard day in the pouring rain but still laughing!”
She also posted a photo last week with the show’s creator Austin Winsberg and Bernadette Peters.
Back in October, Astin posted this super cute photo with Alice Lee and he wrote that they “both made our broadway debuts in #SpringAwakening, and now we’re working together over a decade later on #ZoeysPlaylist!” The photo’s location is tagged as Vancouver.
The official Instagram account for the series also shared these adorable snaps of the cast.
According to the account, the pilot episode premiered on January 7 and new episodes will begin airing on February 16 on NBC.
