Air Canada announced new winter flight routes and here's what it means for Vancouver Airport
Air Canada has announced new flight routes launching this winter to sunny destinations — and Vancouverites are in for a treat.
For the winter 2025–2026 season, the airline will expand its reach into Latin America, unveiling 13 new routes, four new destinations, and a 16% increase in capacity.
While Toronto and Montreal are getting fresh routes too, Vancouver isn't being left out. YVR will now have a new direct flight to Huatulco, a stunning beach destination on Mexico's Pacific coast.
According to Air Canada, the new flight will operate weekly on Sundays from December 7, 2025, to April 12, 2026. Departures from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) are scheduled for 8:30 a.m., landing in Huatulco at 4:35 p.m.— making it even easier to get to the sun and sand faster.
In addition, Air Canada announced extra flights during peak travel periods from Vancouver to Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta. More beach time, anyone?
So if you're already dreaming of palm trees and warm breezes, it might be time to start planning that winter escape already.
