An easy hike takes you around this swimming spot in Alberta and it's like a secret oasis
Summer planning is underway, and if you're looking to cool off with a view, then it's time to check out the many swimming holes and lakes Alberta.
This one swimming spot feels like a peaceful oasis, with mountains and forest wrapping around the sparkling blue lake. Best of all, it's easy to reach the sandy shores of this picturesque lake in Alberta. Just 15 minutes from the town of Jasper, this makes for an easy getaway while on a trip to the mountain town.
You can drive right up to the picnic area of the lake, but trails wind their way throughout the area if you want to go deeper into nature.
Lake Annette feels surreal with its Rocky Mountain views and crystal clear water, which is tempting to dive into. Prepare yourself though, because the water is chilly to dive into — but perfect for a hot summer day.
You can also opt for just sitting on the shore and taking in the incredible views or walking around the lake on the trail. If you want a bit of a hike, there's an easy hiking trail that wraps around the 2.7-kilometre of lakeshore here.
In the summer though you'll see people jumping in, enjoying the cool waters.
It's also the perfect spot to bring a paddleboard for the day and get out on the water.
Relax on the tranquil shores of this lake or enjoy a refreshing dip here this summer!
