A young woman from British Columbia drowned when she was attacked by a pack of dingoes at a famed tourist destination in Australia, a coroner has determined.

Piper James, 19, was on a backpacking trip and was working on the island of K'Gari when she died on January 19 during an early morning walk.

The daughter of a Canadian woman killed in a bus crash in the Dominican Republic says her family is still searching for answers three days after the incident that left another Canadian dead and 13 others injured.

Amanda Fullerton of Lockport, Manitoba, said her mother, Colleen Fullerton, was killed in the Sunday evening crash and her father, John Fullerton, is in the hospital.

Leigh Whiting says she booked a private van from Punta Cana International Airport to her hotel in the Dominican Republic instead of taking a bus shuttle that would have included extra stops at other resorts.

The next day, she learned that bus she nearly boarded had veered off the road in a crash Sunday evening that local authorities said killed two Canadian tourists and injured 13 others.
