This adorable harbour town in B.C. has quaint coastal vibes, cute shops, and stunning views. Sandy beaches and crystal clear waters surround it — making it the ideal summer retreat.
This picturesque waterfront community is set on the Sunshine Coast, which is a BC Ferries ride away from Vancouver. From its famous bakery with mouthwatering treats to its idyllic harbour with boats bobbing in the water, this spot is a must-visit in the warmer months.
Lund is a tiny community on the Sunshine Coast, which you can reach on BC Ferries. From the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal, you'll want to take the 40-minute ride to Langdale first. From there, you can drive along Highway 101 and then take a ferry to Saltery Bay. Keep on going and you'll then reach Lund — and while it may be a journey, it's a worthwhile destination.
According to the BC Ferries website, this spot is where you'll find "the warmest coastal waters of North America," so getting out on the water is a must.
It's known as the gateway to the stunning Desolation Sound Marine Provincial Park, which is home to "more than 60 km of shoreline, several islands, numerous small bays, and snug coves," according to the B.C. Parks website. You can take a boat out or get a tour to explore the beautiful area.
There are also guided tours here, which can take you to the Desolation Sound, Savary Island, and Toba Inlet. Each offers incredible views, stunning beaches and clear water.
To get to Savary Island, you can also grab a water taxi and spend the day on the incredible white sand beach there.
Right in town, though, there's a lot to explore. Nancy's Bakery here is famous for its freshly baked blackberry cinnamon buns.
There are also cool shops like Pollen Sweaters, where you can get locally made clothes to remember your journey by. There are also galleries, a market, and a pottery store to check out here.
All in all, this little town surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty makes for an unforgettable trip.
