Get ready, Toronto — the 2025 Toronto Marathon is taking place this Sunday, May 4, and it will shake up the city significantly. Whether you're lacing up your runners or just trying to get across town, here's what you need to know.

In a press release shared with Narcity on Thursday morning, Toronto police say they will allow TTC services through gaps when it is safe to do so, as they want to minimize disruption across the city. However, be prepared for possible delays.

Roads across Toronto will be impacted, with closures beginning as early as 5:30 a.m. and lasting until 2:30 p.m. If you're driving, plan your route now or expect major delays.

Waterfront & Humber Bay/Etobicoke
- Lake Shore Blvd. (westbound full closure): Bay St. to Ontario Dr. (7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)
- Lake Shore Blvd. (eastbound curb lane): Humber River to Remembrance Dr. (there will be a shoot from Stadium Dr. to give vehicles access to Remembrance Dr.) (7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
