I visited this new tulip festival near Toronto and felt like I was in the Dutch countryside
You don't have to plan a trip to the Netherlands to enjoy colourful tulip fields this spring. This new flower festival near Toronto will transport you to the Dutch countryside with its vibrant fields, themed treats and dreamy installations.
I recently took a trip to Pingle's Farm Market, a charming countryside destination located an hour from Toronto.
The farm is known for its seasonal experiences, and this spring, it is hosting its first-ever Tulip Festival on select dates from May 8 to 19, weather permitting.
The event, which claims to be the largest in the GTA, features over 500,000 pastel blooms across 5 acres, with 30 varieties from Holland.

My tulip experience began at Pingle's Donuterie, where I grabbed the new Caramel Waffle Coffee — a sweet beverage topped with whipped cream and a waffle slice.

To get to the field, I took a scenic wagon ride past orchards and rolling hills. As the tractor rumbled along the dirt pathway, the tulip field came into view, and I was immediately transported to Europe as I gazed across the vibrant field with its whimsical windmill.
The field is dotted with photo ops, including an umbrella canopy and a heart-shaped cut-out.

As I wandered between the rows of gently blowing blooms, it was easy to forget I was in Ontario. The secluded, countryside location was the perfect backdrop for the festival and completely immersed me in nature.
After taking some photos by the installations, I headed into the enclosed pick-your-own area, where I gathered a bouquet of tulips to take home. There were so many colours and varieties to choose from, and it was so fun selecting my perfect bouquet.

To add to the Netherlands vibes, Pingle's has a Dutch Hut serving up some authentic treats by the flowers.
I tried the bitterballen, bratwurst, and Dutch mini pancakes, all of which added to the European feel of the experience. Dining beside the tulips as the sun coloured the fields golden was one of the highlights of my trip.

In addition to tulips, Pingle's has a playland, an animal barn and attractions like live music on select days.
You can also stop by the Market & Bakery for home-baked goods and more unique treats.
The Tulips Days festival is slated to run for three weekends, but it is weather-dependent, so keep an eye on the website to stay updated.

Tickets for the experience can be booked online.
The event is a great way to escape the city and enjoy the spring blooms. I'm still thinking about the Dutch pancakes! If you're looking for something fun or different to do this season, Pingle's is worth a road trip.
