Off-property, Windjammer guests can experience a variety of excursions through Jammin' Tours, the resort's in-house adventure partner. Among the options are zip-lining through Saint Lucia's dense rainforest, scenic gondola rides through the treetops, dolphin and whale watching trips, and horseback rides along the island's picturesque coastal trails.
Water-based experiences are another highlight, with everything from snorkelling and paddleboarding to windsurfing and kayaking. Non-motorized sports are included for all guests and offer a chance to explore the calm bay without straying too far from shore. One of the island's biggest events, the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival, takes place each spring and transforms the island into stages for both international headliners and local performers. The 2025 edition brought together artists like John Legend, Summer Walker and Earth, Wind & Fire, with performances held at Pigeon Island — a 44-acre islet that offers an open-air setting surrounded by sea and sky.
Saint Lucia holds its own as one of the safest Caribbean destinations to visit too, according to the Government of Canada. It currently has the lowest travel advisory level, unlike other popular sun-soaked spots like Cuba, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Barbados which are rated a level higher.
Getting to Saint Lucia is surprisingly easy. Direct flights from Toronto to Hewanorra International Airport run regularly during the peak season, with flight times averaging around five and a half hours. Round-trip fares often dip below $500 in the off-season, especially in late summer and early fall.
