We expect Alberta will receive about 465,000 doses from @Pfizer and about 221,000 doses from @moderna_tx, with the first shipments arriving in early 2021. Tyler Shandro

Alberta Health Minister Tyler Shandro tweeted out the same information, adding that the first shipments would arrive early in the new year.

He continued to say "We will be working with @AHS_media and federal public health officials to prioritize distribution for Alberta’s most vulnerable, health care workers and residents in continuing care."

Alberta health official Dr. Deena Hinshaw advised Albertans to be aware of the many steps needed before a vaccine could actually roll out to the public.

"I want to be clear that these numbers, of course, depend on many factors. They depend on the final pieces of the trials that are underway going well," she said.
