Florida's largest city will be without its main branch for the near future.

Jacksonville's Main Library is closed due to a staff member testing positive for COVID-19.

Library leaders learned today, 7/14, a Library staff member at Main received a positive COVID-19 result. Contact tracing completed to id others at risk.


Jax Public Library

The system, however, is not taking any chances and is closing the branch for deep cleaning.

The staff who were ID'ed by contact tracing will be required to self-isolate for 14 days and are strongly recommended to seek testing. 

The library system is aiming to have the Main branch reopened by the end of the week.
