The top summer road trips in Canada have been revealed and they lead to breathtaking sights
Nothing says "summer" better than a road trip! If you're wondering which road trips in Canada are worth taking this year, look no further.
Canada's best road trips have been revealed, and they lead to breathtaking natural wonders and incredible sights you won't want to miss.
A new study has ranked the top road trips in the country, with journeys all over Canada that each offer something different.
Online casino site CasinoStake ranked 20 of Canada's best road trips to take this summer.
To compile the ranking, the company looked at four metrics: the number of Instagram posts about the road trip, the number of monthly searches for the road trip on Google, the price per day to hire a car in the province of the road trip, and the price of gas in the province of the road trip.
According to the study, Niagara Falls is the top summer road trip spot in Canada. Located in Southern Ontario, the falls can be reached on a short road trip from many cities in the Greater Toronto Area.
The falls are a must-visit natural wonder of Canada, where you can see 6 million cubic feet of water plunge 57 metres every minute.
Following Niagara Falls, the Icefields Parkway in Alberta was found to be the second-best road trip in Canada.
Linking Lake Louise with Jasper, Alberta, the route is known as one of the most beautiful journeys in the world, and takes travellers through soaring rocky mountain peaks, icefields and sweeping valleys.
Alberta, in fact, may be one of the best places in Canada to set out on your next road trip, with the province home to multiple trips that were named among Canada's best.
According to the study, Alberta's Dinosaur Trail is the third-best road trip in the country. The journey allows you travel back in time to when dinosaurs once roamed, taking you to the famed Alberta Badlands and a town known as the "Dinosaur Capital of the World."
Behind the Dinosaur Trail, Alberta's Maligne Lake Road was also found to be one of Canada's top road trips. Located in Jasper, the scenic route takes you past amazing sights like Maligne Canyon and Medicine Lake, ending at Maligne Lake and leaving any visitor more than satisfied.
Rounding out the top five was Ontario's Highway 17, which is part of the TransCanada highway, followed by the Highway 60 Corridor, which passes through the southern portion of Algonquin Park.
Other top routes include iconic road trips like Nova Scotia's Cabot Trail and B.C.'s Sea-to-Sky Highway.
