While you know that the Mint puts out circulation Canadian coins like loonies and toonies, you might not know that you can also get commerative international coins from around the world through Canada's Mint.
That includes the new 2024 200 Francs Fine Silver Coin – Anubis which is the latest international coin offered by the Royal Canadian Mint.
Its country of issue is Djibouti, a nation in Africa, but you can still get it in Canada.
This unique coin is part of The Exploration of Ancient Egyptian Culture series and showcases Anubis, "one of the most famous figures of the Ancient Egyptian pantheon."
Anubis, the jackal-headed god of funerary rites, was part of the transition from life to death and resurrection.
This three-ounce pure silver coin shows the Ancient Egyptian god with the body of a man and the head of a jackal.
Not only does it feature Ancient Egyptian imagery, but the coin's antique finish also makes it look like it's an ancient artifact!

On both sides of the new coin, there is a three-dimensional bust of Anubis with engravings that resemble the relief carvings and hieroglyphics of Ancient Egypt in the background.
Also, the obverse features the year of mintage — 2024 — along with "Anubis" and "Legends of Egypt" at the top and the national emblem of Djibouti at the bottom.

This international coin has a face value of 200 Francs, which is the currency of Djibouti.
According to the Mint, there is a limited mintage of 1,999 and "all previous issues sold out very quickly."
