According to reports shared on Wednesday, Denmark will become the first country in the world to fully scrap the distribution of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
While other countries, including Canada, have suspended AstraZeneca's vaccine for certain age groups, Denmark has moved to cease its administration entirely.

The decision has been made following the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine’s possible link to extremely rare cases of blood clots, reports BBC News.
Danish health authorities held an official media briefing on Wednesday, where they announced the move and presented a new vaccination timeline for the country.
It comes as Canada's first case of a "very rare" blood clot following the COVISHIELD AstraZeneca vaccine was reported on April 13, 2021.
