Such an important cause calls for something big. To mark the occasion on June 20, Subway has taken its fan-favourite chewy and buttery cookie and added playful yellow and green sprinkles for a sweet and colourful treat, sure to excite everyone’s inner child.
This year, it’s more important than ever to support Canadian youth, as one in four children across the country lives in a household that experiences food insecurity due to financial challenges, according to the latest data from the Statistics Canada Canadian Income Survey. This means almost 1.8 million children in Canada under the age of 18 are affected by food insecurity, up from a staggering 1.4 million in 2021.

Launched six years ago, Subway Canada's Never Miss Lunch™ program addresses the pressing issue of child food insecurity by partnering with Food Banks Canada to ensure children have access to nutritious, essential food packs through the summer months when school nutrition programs are on hiatus, so they can focus on enjoying their summer and being kids.
Subway Canada is proud to be the exclusive Fresh Food Sponsor of Food Bank Canada’s youth program. The program aims to distribute 200,000 food packs to children in need across 215 Canadian communities. These specially curated, child-friendly food packs help provide relief for families and kids in need through the summer months — because kids should have kid problems, not hunger problems.
You've probably seen the adorable "Wait Until I Come Back Challenge" online, where parents put a treat in front of their toddler, walk away and ask them not to touch it until they come back. This year, Subway Canada is playfully challenging parents on social media to engage with their children, challenging them to not pause on eating these sweet treats while simultaneously highlighting the Never Miss Lunch™ program.
