The Ontario government announced on Thursday that it would invest over $4.6 million in the Michener Institute to ensure that nurses looking to work in critical care units of hospitals get the training they need.

The multimillion-dollar investment will provide free training for registered nurses to upgrade their skills and cover hospital costs, including refilling their current roles to ensure care services aren't disrupted.

Premier Doug Ford's gas tax cut will go into effect on July 1, and Ontarians may finally feel some relief at the pumps.

Ford's proposed legislation to slash gas and fuel tax was first presented in April 2022 and "received Royal Assent," which means gas tax will be cut by 5.7 cents per litre and fuel tax by 5.3 cents per litre for the next six months.

On Tuesday, the Ontario government announced its plan to move forward with the ultra-low overnight time-of-use electricity price initiative in an effort to help people "save money and take control of their energy bills."
