This park with tumbling waterfalls and an ocean-like lake is one of Ontario's 'most iconic'

With tumbling waterfalls, rugged wilderness, coastal trails and sparkling blue-water beaches, it's a gorgeous place to explore during the spring, summer and fall months.
It was even named among the "most iconic parks" in the province by Destination Ontario, so you can expect some incredible experiences here.
Lake Superior Provincial Park, located in Northeastern Ontario, is a nature-lover's paradise.
Boasting rocky cliffs, sandy beaches, scenic trails and aquamarine waters, the park offers endless opportunities for warm-weather adventures.
Lake Superior is the world's largest freshwater lake by area and is referred to as "an inland ocean," according to Destination Ontario.
You can enjoy "world-class hiking and paddling along the Lake Superior shoreline" as well as beautiful hiking trails that lead past "rocky shores, beaches, lakes and rivers, waterfalls, forests, wetlands and rolling hills," according to the park's website.
One magical spot to visit in the park during the summer months is Bathtub Island, located near Katherine Cove. The basin-shaped rock is full of turquoise water and is a dreamy place to take a dip.
You'll also want to visit the beautiful Sand River Falls and stay late to glimpse the Northern Lights.
The park has camping opportunities, making it an idyllic spot for a summer getaway.
Lake Superior Provincial Park is open seasonally from early May to late October, so you have some time to plan your adventure.
