Warm water beaches, silky sand shores and enchanting sunsets might sound like something you'd experience during a tropical vacation, but you can enjoy all this and more right here in Ontario.

This dreamy provincial park near Toronto is a magical spot for a summer getaway. Featuring soft sand, crystal waters and wildlife, you'll feel like you've taken a trip to another land when spending time here.

The park is about a 2 and a half hour drive from Toronto and is a gorgeous destination to visit for a day or longer.

Here's what to know about this gorgeous summer oasis.

Long Point Provincial Park is a picturesque area located in Port Rowan. It's the fourth oldest provincial park in Ontario and is "one of the largest bird and waterfowl migration and staging areas in North America," according to the website.

The park is also known for its 40-kilometre sandspit which runs along the shore of Lake Erie. Here you'll find several large beaches by Monarch's Rest and Turtle Dunes Campground, as well as day use beaches in the New Park and Cottonwood Campground in the Old Park.

The beaches boast over 2 kilometres of velvety sand and warm water, making this park an idyllic spot for swimming. There are no lifeguards posted at the beaches, so use caution when taking a dip in the water.

Other activities to enjoy at the park include canoeing, fishing and birding.

If you're craving a beach day or summer road trip, this provincial park near Toronto is full of summer magic.
