The Ontario government announced on Monday that they will be "modernizing" some school courses starting in 2023 to get students ready and better prepared for the future.

In September 2023, a new Computer Studies curriculum will be introduced and implemented across the province for students in Grade 10. And, in September 2024, a new Technological Education curriculum will be offered to students in grades 9 and 10.

After months of negotiations with the Ontario government, the province's 55,000 education workers have voted in favour of a new contract.

The Ontario School Board Council of Unions (OSBCU) confirmed Monday morning that 73% of its workers voted for the new deal that gives them a $1 an hour raise each year for 4 years, or 3.59% annually, for the average worker.

The Ontario government and education workers have come to a "tentative agreement" Sunday night, and schools will be open tomorrow.

The Ontario School Board Council of Unions (OSBCU) confirmed the agreement, which has yet to be ratified, in a tweet, and said, "There will be no job action tomorrow. Our members will be reporting to schools to continue supporting the students that we are proud to work with."
