Tiana Jayatunga is a foodie who loves finding hidden gems and sharing them. Her page is filled with drool-worthy restaurants that you need to add to your bucket list. And if you're looking for cheap eats, she's got you covered with budget-friendly date nights too. Here are two spots she says can't be missed.

What Local Foodies Say: Jayatunga said that she rarely ever leaves the downtown core for restaurants but makes an exception for Mayrik.
"When I say you can TASTE THE LOVE in the food, I'm not overselling this in the slightest. It's actually all the recipes of the owner's mother, who you may sometimes find cooking in the back," Jayatunga said.
She says you must try their dip trilogy with baba ghanoush, muhammara and hummus: "Order it and just hold on to it the whole meal, honestly."
She says she "also loved their homemade mante dumplings, which is a very traditional Armenian dish; the crispy kibbeh was so juicy inside and had that perfectly crispy shell; and the sujuk gnocchi was saucy, meaty, and the gnocchi was super fluffy."

What Local Foodies Say: The Toronto foodie says that Little Sister "has now become a Toronto staple, and for good reason. You don't find many Dutch Indonesian fusions, and I always enjoy the dishes here."
"The interior is stunning, it kind of transports you out of the city, which I love, especially when it's cold out. Dishes I can never get enough of are their satay skewers, whichever one you order — lamb, chicken, shrimp (I get all 3 always) — it's busting with flavour with all those aromatic spices," Jayatunga shared.
And if you are looking to have a drink afterward, the Portland Street location has a speakeasy downstairs, and Jayatunga said the "drinks there deserve its own paragraph."

Brian O. is the creator behind the popular Toronto Food Instagram page that features a lot of the city's best and most hidden gems in the downtown core and the GTA. When we asked them to share some of their favourite Toronto restaurants, they said it was "definitely a lot harder than I thought," but they got the assignment done. Here are a few of their faves.

"This place is always busy, and you may need to wait for a seat, but it's 100 percent worth it! They have multiple special hot sauces for different levels of taste and spice, which goes great with all their dishes," the foodie said.
"The tacos here are second to none in the city, from the flavouring of the meat to the tortillas they use, every bite leaves you wanting more. Overall, the environment is a fun and welcoming one, which makes you not only enjoy your food but also the environment you're in," they added.

What Local Foodies Say: Sidhom wasn't the only influencer who brought up Nuna Kitchen & Bar as one of their favourites in the city. Tiana Jayatunga also mentioned it as a must-try.
Sidhom called it a "cozy Peruvian restaurant" that "brings traditional flavours and ingredients of Peru to Toronto."
"I was mindblown by the explosive flavours I experienced with each bite," she said. "Not to mention the attentive service, the romantic ambiance and the colourful cocktails that definitely left a lasting impression on me. The ceviche is the best one I've had in the city!"
Jayatunga said she "loved their pisco sour, and their striploin is exceptional. Easily one of my favourites in the city. It's ridiculously juicy and has these citrusy notes, which really adds to the tenderness of the steak."
"What I truly loved about this restaurant though was that the owners' passion is to share their Peruvian culture with Toronto, and they don't shy away from tradition. I loved chatting with them and asking about the culture, there's so much variety in the cultural influences of Peruvian food. By the way, If the ceviche is available, definitely order that too!" Jayatunga added.
