Warkworth is a quaint small town located an hour and a half from Toronto, amidst rolling hills. Each spring, it hosts the Warkworth Lilac Festival, which celebrates everything related to this fragrant flower.
The festival is taking place from May 24 to 25, 2025, on the Millennium Lilac Trail.
According to the website, "Many rare and beautiful lilacs of unique varieties have been planted strategically in beds along the trail turning it into a showcase of lilacs for all to delight in."
The Ontario Trails Council notes that the 2.6-kilometre Millennium Trail "offers a panoramic picture of the surrounding tree-covered drumlins, forests, uplands, and valleys."
You can see 83 different varieties of lilacs as you wander along the path and breathe in the sweet smell of spring.
The festival includes a variety of vendors, children's activities, musicians, food service, and more to enjoy.
