There's a Secret Turquoise River Oasis In BC & It's Only A 1.5-km Hike To Get There

You'll never want to leave.
Contributor

We like our hikes short, sweet, and with amazing views. We love a journey with an epic endpoint and this little trail has just that. This walking trail in B.C. will take you no time to complete but chances are you'll spend your whole day at the oasis that it takes you to.

Nairn Falls is one of many attractions located in the village of Pemberton, B.C. It's only about a 30-minute drive north of Whistler.

To access the trailhead, you need to get to the Nairn Falls Provincial Park parking lot. Right next to the restrooms, you'll find a wide, groomed trail heading slightly downhill, according to Outdoor Vancouver

The Green River will be on your left as you venture downwards.

And the name very much describes the terrain — the waters are green and clear, so you can have a stunning sight to enjoy as you walk along the trail.

It's a straight-forward trek with very few ups and downs, so don't worry about getting lost or needing to wear your best hiking boots.

You can go to the riverside if you want to catch distant glimpses of the glorious waterfall. But do keep in mind that the river is not recommended for swimming.

About 800 meters into the hike, you'll be able to see the mist from Nairn Falls on the river. That's when you know your destination is super close.

The last little bit of the hike is the tough part, but even then it's just a rocky climb that should take you no time.

There are two lookout points from where you can view the spectacular waterfall.

The first one is up the hill where you gaze at the water flowing down from the canyon in full force.

The second lookout just below the first one will provide side views of the falls. It's at a lower elevation but it'll also get you to admire the sheer force of the water.

You'll also be able to take a long gaze out at the river that you passed during your hike.

Outdoor Vancouver warns you that you need to remain careful while lounging by these waters as they can be quite rapid.

All in all, it's a super easy trail that will lead to amazing scenes and a secret waterfall just waiting to be discovered in B.C.
