Trudeau Says The Best COVID-19 Vaccine For Canadians Is The 'First You Are Offered'
Following the National Advisory Committee on Immunization’s (NACI) decision to suspend the AstraZeneca vaccine for people aged under 55 in Canada, Justin Trudeau has spoken out.
During a press conference on March 30, the prime minister said that the right vaccine for Canadians to take is the “very first vaccine that you are offered.”

Trudeau was asked about possible vaccine hesitancy following the AstraZeneca guidance update, but he reiterated that getting any one of Canada’s approved COVID-19 vaccines is the best way out of the pandemic.
“The more we get Canadians vaccinated quickly and safely, the quicker we’ll be able to get back to a semblance of normality,” he said.
Multiple Canadian provinces have already confirmed the suspension of the AstraZeneca vaccine in younger people, with the NACI citing reports of blood clots as its reason for updating their advice.
