Calgary Officially Makes Masks Mandatory In Public Indoor Spaces

After a huge spike in COVID-19 cases, masks are mandatory in Calgary.

Starting on Saturday, August 1, Calgarians will have to wear face coverings in "indoor public premises and public vehicles."

The temporary Face Coverings Bylaw was passed on Tuesday, July 21.

There are some exceptions for people who won't have to wear them including anyone eating and drinking.

Research done by the city showed that a 74% majority of people in the area thought that masks should be required in public spaces.
