Jason Kenney's Bill 1, which has now been ratified as a law, is not sitting well with many Albertans.

"Kill Bill 1" protests in Calgary and Edmonton are set to take place on Saturday, July 11 between 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Bill 1 focuses on protecting "essential infrastructure" from damage. The penalties associated with the Bill target blockades and protesters.

Just assembling peacefully is enough to get you a $10,000 fine and 6 months in jail!

The event page goes on to say "We already have trespassing laws that protects private and public property. We do not need legislation that targets citizens exercising their democratic right to protest."

The Edmonton protest on Saturday will happen outside Alberta Legislature whereas the Calgary protestors will gather outside City Hall.

Protestors have been told to wear masks and practice social distancing at the demonstrations.
